Catherine Braun
Leader of Council; Green Group Leader; Chair of Strategy & Resources Committee

Catherine has represented the Wotton-under-Edge Ward at Stroud District Council for the Green Party since May 2016, and was elected as Council Leader in July 2022. She studied at Sussex and Strasbourg and has worked in government relations, communications and emergency planning. Catherine’s lived in Gloucestershire for many years and loves the area for its great sense of community and vibrant voluntary sector. She supports local arts, community and environment groups, and enjoys live music events. She’s keen to see the Cultural Strategy address the needs of our communities and place and strengthen existing connections with valued arts organisations.
