I was a lawyer for 35 years , setting up the first cooperative women’s legal practice in Bristol and then working in Cardiff during a period of major regeneration. After retirement I refound some of my creativity and was accepted on the Fine Art degree course in Cheltenham and went on to gain an MA. I was a trustee of Strike a Light ( a community arts organisation in Gloucester) for 8 years . I campaigned to keep the Stroud Subscription Rooms in public ownership and was on their Board of Trustees for 5 years .I have lived in my village for over 40 years and believe strongly in the importance of culture in building community and enhancing life.
