Freya Tate's Work explores the figure In a variety of emotional and physical states through drawing in a practice informed by her work as a life model and musician. Alongside drawings shown completed during her time at the Royal drawing school Freya will be creating life-size characters from drawings of composite body parts. Visitors to the space will be invited to model either hands feet or head for 10 to 15 minutes, to contribute to the new creation of 'paper peoples'.
"During this residency I intend to explore the meaning of loneliness that I find expressed in one singular body part (a feeling of breaking down or tight focus) in contrast with the 'whole' as new human beings are created. I'm always in wonder of how wholeness or reflections of it can come from smaller broken parts that become more than themselves, whether through art or music. I think there is a lot of hopefulness to be explored in this universal rule."
Open Friday 6th - Saturday 7th March 10-3pm
