Monty and Co.
Leigh Montague: clothing designer, maker, mother to two boys and founder of Monty & Co.
A timeless, British Workwear clothing brand for Children and Adults. Quality, Unisex, circular clothing. Handcrafted in Stroud, Made in Britain, established in 2016.
The brand was born from a desire to create something she couldn’t find as a new parent: (durable and functional clothing with unisex style). The arrival of her son reinforced her values, which were at odds with the changing high street, fast fashion and overconsumption. This led to her to leave a successful decade-long career as a senior menswear designer for Marks & Spencer. Leigh then pursued her passion for local manufacturing and set out to champion quality British childrenswear.
Committed to creating clothing to last and withstand childhood. The seasonless collection focuses on reinterpreting classic workwear garments for children aged 1-10 years. Designed and handcrafted from Leigh’s home studio in the south Cotswolds. Leigh is committed to sustainable clothing, ensuring her designs escape landfill and are passed down to future generations via a Circular pre-loved take-back scheme. The clothing brand has gained a loyal following worldwide known for its authentic Overalls, Boilersuits and Jackets. Styles are inspired by her family’s military background, a love of history, utility and heritage.
