Opening night: Friday 21st April 6-9pm
Open to Public: Fridays and Saturdays 10-3pm
Lorna will use the residency to explore ideas of publicly engaged art. The gallery will be used as a space to create encounters that ignite playful interaction between humans and objects.
Lorna’s practice:
Lorna's practice explores nostalgia, human’s relationship with the natural world, and the power of participation. She creates ephemeral events that encourage the viewers to become part of the work. She aims to create freeing experiences where an alternate reality allows a space for play. Lorna is interested in breaking down traditional boundaries between spectator and creator and moving towards a collaborative practice. She aims to challenge and abolish barriers found in everyday life that prevent the creation of a space and time for adult play. Lorna's practice is socially driven, working with projects that use art to promote positive change within local communities.
