“ It’s foremost about playfulness and sharing music we love - keeping it fun every step of the way. If you dive straight into the tech it can be quite overwhelming and you lose the fun and the love. It’s not really just about DJing either. It’s also about people - especially women, trans and non-binary people’s confidence, and organically passing on skills and support between peers. JOICEY is connected to SVA as a venue, so you can instantly start practising in a live context. We book DJs from London and Bristol, and local talent playing alongside these acts bring friends along to discover new artists and genres offering a holistic music education on the dancefloor!”
