This month Ishmael Ensemble return to the Brunel Goods Shed for the 5th edition of their Round Up residency in collaboration with Jazz Stroud & d&b audiotechnik. This time inviting to the stage the outrageously talented Alabaster DePlume.
Alabaster is no stranger to Stroud, his words and music have graced the Goods Shed stage for a few years now. It only felt right to welcome his band back to celebrate the release of the new record "To Cy & Lee".
Ishmael Ensemble also return in full force for the first time since beginning the residency. Expect new tunes & further sonic exploration with the d&b audiotechnik soundscape.
*****
“In a world that is troubled and going through crises of all sorts, I think [this] album is the perfect therapy for the planet right now.” Gilles Peterson.
“Some of the most life-affirmingly beautiful instrumentals on Alabaster DePlume’s new album... surely one of the best for 2020.” The Guardian.
"Expresses an indefinable optimism, just beyond reach, yet close enough to keep you grasping for it.” Record Collector.

Even though this event has been postponed we are working hard on continuing to support the fantastic range of artists that we work with by securing new dates with them and we are hoping to keep a lot of the incredible programme that we had booked. So look out here for the rescheduled events and online events.
Like many arts and music venues we are facing a very critical time financially so we’d be over the moon if you are in a position to make a small donation to help us keep bringing you our incredible, joyous, ambitious and diverse programme of live gigs, exhibitions and festivals to Stroud. We need live music, art and dance as much as ever right now and we would love you to help us keep bringing it to as many people as possible.
