In the eighth instalment of his quarterly residency with Jazz Stroud, this time Footshooter welcomes Anja Ngozi to take the controls at the SVA in Stroud.
Anja Ngozi is a London based DJ, whose eclectic sets centre around soulful tunes, lo-fi beats and experimental waves. She is fast building a rep as a supreme selector and curator. This is clear through her presence as 1/3rd of DJ collective Creole Cuts who deal in soul-laden House, Hip-Hop and RnB through regular sets around the city and a residency on Balamii Radio.
She also worked collaboratively with The Vinyl Factory and Lonely Table to produce a compilation record called ‘Untitled’, a musical response to the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, featuring collaborative tracks from Mala, Joe Armon-Jones, Nubya Garcia, Shabaka Hutchings, Layfullstop and many more. This project was also attached to a series of youth workshops exploring the work.

Even though this event has been postponed we are working hard on continuing to support the fantastic range of artists that we work with by securing new dates with them and we are hoping to keep a lot of the incredible programme that we had booked. So look out here for the rescheduled events and online events.
Like many arts and music venues we are facing a very critical time financially so we’d be over the moon if you are in a position to make a small donation to help us keep bringing you our incredible, joyous, ambitious and diverse programme of live gigs, exhibitions and festivals to Stroud. We need live music, art and dance as much as ever right now and we would love you to help us keep bringing it to as many people as possible.
