“My work will respond to the cost of living crisis, collaborate with a brilliant poet, and explore these themes through text, performance, photography, sculpture, and video (hopefully). Taking inspiration from my favorite 90s punk songs and current bullshit news headlines.”
Kelly O’Brien:
Photographer and multimedia artist from Derby, UK.
Kelly’s work is concerned with the photographic relationship to absence; investigating how personal lived experiences and invisible political histories can be interrogated to begin to uncover new visual territories and possibilities.
Her current practice focuses on historical and personal narratives, tuned with methodologies that explore both the personal and political. The central themes are class, identity, memory, fragmentation and the imagined landscape.
